ASUS ROG G751JY

Gaming runs through my blood and in my veins. I have been gaming since god knows when and when I see a beauty such as this manifest itself in front of my eyes, my adrenaline levels go sky high. This machine is a beast, nay its a behemoth. ASUS ROG has long been synonymous with gaming and it is no surprise to see premium quality craftsmanship from them. ASUS has long tested the market of Gamers and they know the exact sweet spots.

The ASUS ROG G751JY is one of the high end ROG laptops in the latest G751 line released just recently. For the foreseeable future, this is the model that will hold the throne of the ROG lineage. What does it offer? Well the better question to ask would be: What doesn’t it offer?

For starters ASUS have decided to rethink the design. While the previous versions were subtle and mundane. This latest series boasts a unique style such as an aluminium shell running through the spine. The color of the backlite certainly looks darker and softer giving an overall look of a batcave (the batman “Beyond” cave, cuz it had red lights)

Although this is not the highest end G751 ROG, but boy does it pack a punch. Featuring an Intel Core i7-4710HQ, 24 GB of RAM, 1 TB HDD running at 7200 RPM, 256 GB SSD, 17.3 inch FULL HD IPS screen, Windows 8.1, and Blu-ray writer, this machine is the bomb.

Notice I did not mention the graphic card, Why? Well because you save the best for last! So without further ado, let me unveil the GTX 980M featuring 4GB of VRAM. Let me make it very clear. At the moment, this is the best single GPU graphic card that you can get on a laptop. Now unless you are trying to go for an SLI or crossfire setup, there is nothing that trumps the power of this card as of this moment. The math has already been done. And no-one can challenge math.

Currently there is no game that this laptop cannot run at ultra graphics while maintaining a 60 FPS. Can’t say much about the future but as far as longevity is concerned, well you are set to go for at least another 2 to three years on ultra graphics. Basically as long as this generation of consoles remains, this laptop should give you enough juice.

Along with other exclusive features, that a gamer really does not care for much, ASUS ROG G751JY 71 is once again a heavy weight champion weighing at about 8.4 pounds and has an obesity issue. But hey, if you are gamer, you are quite aware of all this, you just have to manage you mobility.

Unfortunately, like most gaming laptops, this laptop will burn a hole in your pocket.
