Welcome to the HP Elitebook 840 G1

The HP Elitebook 840 G1 is the epitome of the Ultrabook standard, built with an intoxicating combination of portability and performance; this is one of the most powerful 14 inch Ultrabooks yet.  The EliteBook 840 is just 0.8 inches thick and weighs just 3.5 pounds.  Inside the solid and sturdy frame is an Intel Core i7-4600U processor along with a 4 GB DDRL3 SDRAM, which drives not only the internals, but provides clarity via the 14 inch LED backlit High density anti glare monitor. To complete the package is the Intel integrated Graphics 4400 co-processor, which is designed as an integral part of the machine, and provides ample power for any amount of graphics you may wish to throw at it.

The HP EliteBook 840 G1 is a high end laptop option with a big twist. Instead of coming pre-loaded with the now common Windows 8 or 8.1 operating system, HP has instead decided to stick with the older but still very popular Windows 7 on this device. For many who don’t want to make the jump to Windows 8 which is a much different look compared to Windows 7 this provides a very powerful option. We will checkout some of the benefits and downsides to this HP model and see just how well it stacks up.

The Power of the HP Elitebook 840 G1

HP makes great mobile laptops and notebooks, and is certainly a well known brand.  This HP Elitebook 840 G1 has all the required specifications of value for money, solid design features, and overall horse power that we all like in a machine. For example, the HP keyboards and touch pads seem to have the best “touch” and the right strength for the average user. If you want a cool, sexy, ultrabook, then maybe this is not that type of product. This is a good, solid, notebook computer built to last.  Sure you could carry it around in a backpack , or use at home as your main computer.

There is no lack of power on the HP EliteBook 840 G1 j2l62ut starting with the high end Intel Core i7-4600U   processor. This processor offers top of the line performance as well as Turbo Boost. Turbo Boost technology allows the processor to run at higher speeds when doing high end tasks but lower speeds when not to help preserve battery life.  With most new laptops now providing at least 1 USB port that runs on the newer and faster 3.0 technology HP has taken it a step further and made all 4 ports USB 3.0. We haven’t seen many laptops hit the market yet that provide this many options that run on USB 3.0.

The 256 GB SSD hard drive helps give this laptop an extra boost when it comes to performance as well as helping to conserve battery life due to the fact it has no moving parts unlike SATA hard drives.  All of this storage space and super connectivity means you can go for broke with your latest gaming adventure, because this machine can easily handle more than you can!  And that is a nice feeling when you need the extra capability.

Summary of the HP Elitebook 840 G1

No question the HP EliteBook 840 G1 is built for performance and HP has covered this very well with this device.  The HP EliteBook 840 G1 notebook is ultra fast at home or at the office. Work at the highest standards thanks to the proven technologies and performance and all the nice to have features that are sure to meet all your business needs.
