Best Laptops of the Year

Here’s our list of the Best Laptops of the Year

We’ve researched some of the best laptops of the year on the market and checked other reviews to add to our own, so that we can give you the shortest and sweetest options to choose from.

We have options to suit students on a budget, commuters on the go, work from home telecommuters, or high end gamers – there is something for everyone.

Looking around for a new laptop  can be an exciting, but a lengthy chore. The large number and confusing array of options is enough to make your digits wobble! Most people have a general idea of what their laptop should look like and what they want in terms of features, but it’s difficult to work out whether or not a computer is right for your until you have switched it on and using it in anger.  Maybe it’s a bit heavier than you thought it would be, or maybe the screen is too shiny and you now discover that you prefer matte.  What do you do if the battery life turns out not to last as long as you thought it would – its too late now!  Some people are actually intimidated by the choices available.  Don’t be – read on!!

“Whether you are a student, business owner, work from home, or just like to get

stuck into a great new game, there are options to suit everyone”

The first thing you need to consider is what you need in the laptop. For a competitive gaming aficionado, then a discrete graphics card and big screen are necessary components in the laptop you choose. Are you on a limited budget?  Then you can easily find anything around or less than $500 with at least a Core i3 processor and 4 GB of on board memory. If you want a business computer, then security measures like a fingerprint reader may suit your purposes. For those who commute or spend a lot of time on the road, an Ultrabook or even a Chromebook will save back and shoulder pain. For those who need a movie fix, a bright 1080p screen will enhance your viewing pleasure.  And these days, we need to consider if a touch screen is a priority decision. With the advent of Windows 10, touch screen functionality is now fairly common, but still something to consider when selecting a laptop.

We narrow down these choices of the top 10 best laptops of the year
